This is a lovely photo Duncan. These are certainly the times children remember.
I don't know if we are related but that little girl in the patterned cardigan on the right reminds me a lot of photos of myself at that age although I would be fifteen years older in 1965.

I think this was taken around 1959 having spoken to my mother Janice - she is holding my cousin Ann-Marie and my dad is in the back row (left) with the suit and tie. Also in the picture are all of my aunties (Lena, Lizzie, Annie & Mary-Ann) and several cousins.

Hi Garve. No I wouldn't know the date but Alister Jack sent me an email today and said that I am related to the little girl Mary because her Great Grandfather Lewis MacLeman and my Great Grandfather Donald MacLeman were brothers so it is amazing how the family resemblance continues.
The Avoch Archive has been great for helping us overseas finding out about our extended family.

I remember the picture(i am sitting at the table). It was taken on a Christmas Day(my birthday). I cannot remember the special occasion apart from the obvious i.e. xmas/birthday(it was a "one-off") but my aunty MaryAnne(Nana)put on the spread. The turkeys were so big they had to be cooked in macdonalds bakery and were carried down the street uncovered. The only person I am not sure about is the baby on my mam's(Lena; far left)lap. Shona Wilson perhaps? Anne-Marie was born on 5th December 1958 or 1959, so she would be 3 weeks old when the photo was taken. I can't remember this particular event but Mary Anne's forte was big spreads with enough to feed the developing world - and then some! She probably laid on another 'do' on New Year's Day!

Duncan (MacLeman) was your father Sandy the butcher (Tunda)? We are related.

Hi Don - Sandy was my dad - I've scanned a picture of him and uploaded it to the site - should be up soon! (See picture #251)

Thanks Duncan - Just had a look at picture and that sure is your dad. Your mam (Janice was related to neighbours of ours in Ardross - Veda Simpson - she was in same class as my sister (Eileen) now living in Fortrose. My ex wife (Jean worked with your dad in butchers.
