This is a superb picture and I recognise so many faces of lovely people! It also seems to indicate a period of "entente cordiale" in the village! The ladies in the pictureare a mixture of attendees of both the kirk and the chapel.
I wasn't aware of the ladies from each church helping the other for the annual clean-anybody know if this indeed was the norm in the early 50s??

Love the picture of my Gran. Maggie Painter and some of her friends, well remembered from my childhood. Mrs Comrack, always so happy and Williamiana's daughter. Williamiana would sing sad songs and make me cry.

Like the mention that she was always smiling , so true , a lovely lady .

Dinah Cormack was my great aunt , my grandmother, Isabel Macleod ‘s, sister . I have happy memories of visiting Dinah and her husband Jock , on our yearly visits to the Black Isle. Dinah had a lovely nature and was always so happy . Fond memories of my time spent in the Black Isle .
