Rosehaugh GardnersThese are the Rosehaugh gardeners together with their cook Margaret Jack.
Aunty Margaret was a sister of my great grandmother, Catherine Jack whose second marriage was to Alexander Main, a retired Crimean war veteran.
The only man I could identify with certainty is on the top row, second from left.
That is William Patience, better known as Wullie Dole, who lived in one of the Henrietta cottages.
Photo from around 1930/35.

I think the one with the beard, fourth from the right is my great Granddad Donald McLeman from 22 Dock. Does anyone have any photographs of the coachmen at that time. We are looking for any Shobbrooks who worked and lived at Rosehaugh.

Hi,
My great grandmother (Catherine Jack) lived at 47 Henrietta St and her parents were John & Catherine Jack.
She had a sister called Margaret (born 1876) who would be my great Aunt. She also had 7 other brothers & sisters.
Is this the same person as your great grandmother (i.e Catherine) if it is then she is also my great grandmother and the person I'm named after?

I'm wondering whether the besuited gentleman standing on the right is my great- great- great- uncle William Mortimer Moir who was head gardener from about 1892 to 1920? According to the census he lived in a gardeners cottage along with his family and quite a few other people, at least some of whom may have been the gardeners in this photo? Any more info greatly welcomed.
